The theme for this year is ROOTS!
The 29th annual Parsec Short Story Contest will open on January 1st and close on March 31st.
This portal is for the YOUTH STORY PRIZE ONLY!

Please note: We do not wish to see stories written by AI! We trust you to honor this request. Any submissions known or found to be created using AI will be automatically disqualified. (Use of spell check and voice-to-text dictation tools are unobjectionable.)
There is never a fee to enter the Parsec Short Story contest thanks to the donations from our members and supporters. If you would like to become a Parsec member for only $30/yr, you can find information here: https://parsec-sff.org/memberships/
Process for YOUTH STORY: Winner will be chosen by the Short Story contest first readers. Winners will be notified after March 31st and then announced during the Confluence Conference. Winning story may be printed in the Confluence program book.
Submission to the contest implies consent for publication in the Confluence program book. All rights revert immediately to the author upon publication.
